Cheerleader's photos or lack of. 09/17/07 5:06 AM
Recently I was asked by a individual the following question.... "I am just kind of wondering why on the Hoxie game against Harrisburg do you have many pics of the Harrisburg cheerleaders and only 3 or 4 pictures of the Hoxie cheerleaders. Some of the girls are upset that there are more of the opponent and not of them.".... that was written privately which I appreciate however would like to answer the best I can.

First off, the whole reason I attend and do photos at the games is to provide photos for the schools and students at a reasonable cost considering time and some time distance driven. However the reason that in this particular game I took more photos of the opposing team's cheerleaders is due to the fact that they were doing acrobatics and cartwheels on the side of the field previous to the start of the game while natural light was available.

When I returned to our home side I found our cheerleaders on the outside of the fencing in small groups talking to their friends and not doing anything as a group. The time the game started, natural light had failed and I changed lens that won't focus close objects within fifteen feet and by no means close to a wide angle and if noticed I'm located close to the track entrance on the west of the field to be far enough away to take the photos I did capture of Hoxie's Cheerleaders.

Of all the images of our, Hoxie Cheerleaders, were taken during the game once they were performing as a group and during a time that required extra light or a flash to capture any image at all.
I would enjoy showcasing our local cheerleaders, ball players and game supporters and have attempted to at every game or event. I'm sorry if the lack of photos taken during a game has upset anyone or any group but suggest that maybe if during a event the cheerleaders and other groups would gather as a group and not be doing their separate endeavors elsewhere. Time the game starts I'm unable to watch the cheerleaders should they have a routine or do acrobatics and even have the wrong lens to enable me to obtain wide angle images to capture the entire group as well as the players on the field.

Please feel free to email me at photos@wardenphoto.com should I not have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for enabling me to explain why I may do some things at times and not others.
